Milk Money

It Takes Many Hands to Provide Hope

Bringhurst Community Church is honored to sponsor the Kokomo Rescue Mission’s evening meal milk service for the coming year. The cost of this sponsorship is $70, and we are inviting members of our church and community who are able to help us support this important ministry.

For more than 70 years, the Kokomo Rescue Mission has served people throughout North Central Indiana who are experiencing homelessness, hunger, financial hardship, and other difficult circumstances. Its mission is to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ while helping people move toward stability, independence, and wholeness. (Kokomo Rescue Mission)

The Rescue Mission provides much more than a place to sleep. It operates shelters for men, women, and women with children. It also provides groceries, clothing, household items, hygiene products, diapers, formula, counseling, recovery support, employment preparation, and other programs designed to help people rebuild their lives. (Kokomo Rescue Mission)

Every day of the year, the Mission also provides free meals to anyone in need. No qualification is required. People who are hungry can enter the dining room and receive a meal, a welcoming place to sit, and the reminder that they have not been forgotten. (Kokomo Rescue Mission)

In 2025 alone, supporters of the Kokomo Rescue Mission helped provide 118,841 meals and 44,494 nights of shelter. During that same year, 106 residents achieved independence. Behind every one of those numbers is a person, a family, and a story that may have begun with someone simply needing a safe place and a warm meal. (Kokomo Rescue Mission)

Small Gifts Become Part of Something Bigger

Milk may appear to be a small part of an evening meal, but a complete meal is created through many individual gifts. One person may provide milk. Another may donate bread. Someone else may prepare food, serve a plate, wash dishes, stock shelves, offer encouragement, or pray with a person who is facing an uncertain future.

No one church, organization, or individual can meet every need alone. Ministries such as the Kokomo Rescue Mission work because many people each provide a small piece of the larger picture.

When times are difficult, people often need more than food. They need to know that their community still sees them. They need dignity, encouragement, and the opportunity to begin again. A meal can become the open door through which someone discovers shelter, counseling, employment assistance, recovery resources, or a caring person willing to listen.

Help Bringhurst Community Church Support This Ministry

The cost of sponsoring the evening meal milk service is $70 a week. We are asking those who are able to consider contributing toward this sponsorship.

No gift is too small. Several people giving a few dollars can accomplish something meaningful together. The purpose is not simply to purchase milk. It is to stand beside a ministry that serves people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Donations may be given through Bringhurst Community Church and designated:

Kokomo Rescue Mission Milk Service

We are grateful for everyone who gives, prays, volunteers, or helps spread the word. When many hands come together, an ordinary glass of milk becomes part of a warm meal, a caring welcome, and a much larger message:

You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone.
