Honoring the Women Who Reflect God's Love — A Mother's Day Message from Bringhurst Community Church

This Sunday, we pause to celebrate some of the most important people in our lives—our mothers.

At Bringhurst Community Church, Mother’s Day is more than just a day of flowers, cards, and kind words. It’s a time to recognize the God-given role of mothers in shaping our faith, families, and futures. Whether biological, adoptive, or spiritual mothers, these women reflect God’s nurturing love in profound and lasting ways.

We Thank God for Our Moms

Scripture reminds us of the blessing of a godly mother. Proverbs 31:28 tells us,“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”This beautiful verse isn’t just poetry—it’s a calling for us to pause and speak words of blessing and honor over the women who have shaped our lives.

On this special day, we say a heartfelt thank you to the mothers among us. Thank you for the late nights and early mornings, for your prayers whispered in the dark, for your quiet strength, and for your steadfast love.

Celebrating Moms in Our Church Family

At Bringhurst, we believe that love should be shown in both word and action. On Sunday, May 11, we will take time during our morning service to honor the mothers and grandmothers in our congregation. Expect smiles, small gifts, and meaningful moments as we reflect on the legacy of faith that these women continue to build.

And as we gather, we are reminded of 2 Timothy 1:5, where Paul writes to Timothy:“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

”A mother’s influence echoes through generations, leaving a legacy of faith that can shape the world.

For Those Who Grieve on Mother’s Day

We also want to acknowledge that this day can carry deep emotions—grief, longing, or loss. If this day is difficult for you, know that you are not alone. The God who sees and comforts us is near.Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”We pray His peace and presence surround you today.

Let’s Keep Living Out God’s Love

As a church family, may we continue to support the women in our lives—not just on Mother’s Day, but all year long. Let’s lift them up in prayer, lend a helping hand, and honor them with our words and actions.
