A Sacred Call to Reflection and Renewal
As the seasons change and time moves forward, we are once again invited into one of the most profound and holy seasons of the Christian faith—Lent. This journey begins with Ash Wednesday, a day of deep reflection, repentance, and renewal before God.
We invite you to join us at Bringhurst Community Church on Wednesday, March 5th, at 7:00 PM for a special Ash Wednesday Service as we step into this sacred season together.
What Is Ash Wednesday?
Ash Wednesday is more than just a day on the church calendar; it is a solemn reminder of our need for God's grace. The ashes placed on our foreheads symbolize both our mortality—“For dust you are, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19)—and the call to repentance: “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” (Mark 1:15).
Throughout Scripture, ashes have represented humility, brokenness, and a desire for renewal in God's presence. From the prophets of old to the early church, believers have turned to God with contrite hearts, seeking His mercy and strength.
Why Should We Observe Ash Wednesday?
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of the deeper things of faith. Ash Wednesday calls us to pause and realign our hearts with God’s purposes. It is a time to:
Reflect on our lives in the light of God’s holiness.
Repent from sin and seek a fresh start with Christ.
Renew our commitment to spiritual growth as we begin the Lenten journey toward Easter.
This service is for everyone—whether you’ve observed Ash Wednesday for years or are just beginning to explore its meaning. Come as you are, and allow God to speak to your heart.

We invite you, your family, and friends to experience the beauty and power of Ash Wednesday with us. This service will include prayer, Scripture readings, worship, and the imposition of ashes, a visible sign of our inward longing for God’s grace.
